I've received a call from someone claiming to work for IRS who said I've been selected to receive money from the IRS. He didn't ask for any personal information. Gave me a number to call to talk to someone else who told me I could receive the cash through Walmart money gram and wouldn't have to pay anything only show proof that I am who I am.
We hope that you did not call this number and did not give anyone any money. These phone calls are total scams. Some pretend that the IRS has a case against you and demand money; others claim you have won a grant; and on and on.
These are totally phony calls and the callers make money on gullible people. You should report the call to the FTC (though good luck getting anything done about it).
