Is there emergency financial assistance for surgery?

Hello, I've been diagnosed with severe congenital heart failure and lupus. I'm disabled. My husband has been diagnosed with severe hyper-thyroid. We are in need of emergency surgery costing $300,000. Where could I get emergency  assistance? My husband and myself are in need of emergency surgery costing up to $300,000.

I believe I've answered this before, Alexis, sorry the response hasn't changed:

I don't know of any grants available for major surgery. Some options I would recommend include: 

  • Have your hospital connect you with a social worker who may know of local or national charities that might help;
  • Check with the National Hearat Association to see what assistance or advice they may be able to offer;
  • If you have not gotten a health insurance plan under Obamacare so so right away. They supposedly cannot turn you down for a pre-existing condition.
  • Check out a crowdfunding type of platform that is specifically designed for people with medical needs. You can learn more about it here
