We are a  rural community in Ridgeville, SC in Dorchester County. We have been trying for years to build a playground for the children. We have the land but no money to develop it. The nearest public playground from our community is 17 miles away.

If you don't live in a special tax district or upscaled neighborhood there is little change of getting help.

We are a non-profit community association with a 501C(3).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. We can be reached at (???) ???-???? or ???????????.

17 miles is definitely a long way to go for a playground! Hope this will be able to help:

It's great that you are a 501(c)3! This opens up a much broader range of opportunities for you to find grants. It sounds like you have tried to get some local assistance wihtout much luck, but it might still be worthwhile for you to check your state's website and see if there are any relevant grants that might be available to you.

You might have better luck checking out Grants for Nonprofits. It's a very handy guide to the types of grants available not only from the government but also from private foundations.
