I am 67 years old and on SSI.  With a lot of debt that I am dealing with, I am finding it difficult

to keep with some immediate bills. Can anyone refer me to an agency that can help me today

to pay an overdue electricity bill? I have applied to HEAP and have received help from

the Salvation Army once. What can I do?  The amount of the bill is $288.00.

I need money to pay my electric bill today or I face disconnect.

Sorry for your situation. There are some programs that could help you, and also some ways to reduce your expenses so you have more money for your bills. Check out this article about Grants for Seniors to be sure you are getting all the benefits that are available. Also note that there is a whole section in the article about utilities and utility bills.
