I need help. I am going through a disability claim with no money coming. I am starting to drown in my own debt. I had to sell my car for bills and only covered a portion. I have been living on top romen. Is there any kind of help out there for this? I feel I am downing in AZ.

I am a 52 year old single woman. I needs to know if there is help out there for this. I messed up my leg so bad I had to have surgery. It ended my career as a buisness owner and EMT. I can't lift any more. I was doing valenteer work as an avocate for the elderly and disabled. But I can't now. I had to sell my car to pay bills and survive.

But that has left me worse then before. I am being drug down and if I cant find help pretty soon I will be homeless too. I owe on back rent and utilaties.

Is there any kind of help out there for me? Now I have fybro. It's so bad.

So sorry for your situation Cathy.  Seems like you really need someone to talk to and look at  your case. I don't know of any sort of grants or service for this particular situation. But I would recommend talking to three different kinds of agencies for starters:

1. A local Social Services representative should be aware of any programs specifically aimed to help those who have to wait so long for their Disability claim to be resolved.

2. Dial 2-1-1 and see if they come up with some good new suggestions. It's there job to be on top on what is available for different needs so they should be a good place to start.

3. The Salvation Army is also a good place to try. They are a charitable organization and even if they can't help directly (though they might), they should know of other resources that might be available.
