Why do you have to pay a fee for a grant that you were awarded?

I was told I was awarded money but I have to pay a fee first, why? Why do you have to pay a fee for a grant that you were awarded?

You don't, Tequila2, sounds like whoever you are dealing with is running a scam. Unfortunately it's happening a lot these days and the feds have warned abuot it.

I hope you have not provided any personal/financial information. Real grants are free by definition and do not require a fee upfront to receive it. And the Government NEVER alls you to announce you've won a grant.

I was called today saying that I had won a grant because I did not have a criminal record or bankrupcy.

They also said that it was a 9k dollar and that I needed to goto a money gram office to clain it.

Then they gave me a phone number to call up and answer some questions.

The phone number they gave me was 360-205-7592.

That is a scam. Do not participate. USAGrants.us did not call you.
