We at NCC Solutions (formerly known as Northeast Care Center, 12627 York Road) in North Royalton.Ohio have a large day program for all of the attending individuals who reside in our many Waiver and ICF/IID group homes. We have the available space to establish a large playground that would be handicapped accessible for individuals who are in wheelchairs as well as who are orthopedically challenged and multi-handicapped. Are there grants for such playgrounds to be installed?

The playgorund could also be made available to families and friends in the surrounding communities and would then provide integrated and inclusionary interaction between the day program clients and those from the community wishing to use the facillties.

That is a great question Tom and I'm sure such a playground would benefit a lot of people. I think a great place for you to start would be on the (big) government grant site grants.gov. This guide to grants.gov  can help you deal with what can be an overwhelming amount of information. Scroll down to the section called "grants.gov search tips" and see if you find anything that your organization might be eligible for.

Also check out the resources outlined in Grants for Nonprofits.
